2017 Taiwan Design Expo Emerging Designers Pavilion

 

青出於藍

「2017台灣設計展」於臺南藍晒圖文創園區規劃「新銳館」,廣邀臺灣各地37位新銳設計師/設計品牌前往展出。「新銳館」的策展主軸為「青出於藍」,不僅呼應藍晒圖文創園區,更是指青色從蓼藍裡提煉出來,象徵新銳設計師在業界嶄露頭角。

此次展覽,強調呈現設計師的思考邏輯及設計準則,不僅在造型用途上,選用材料時也透過微觀的方式研發出許多令人驚豔的材質,抑或是從傳統工藝中汲取養分,以新的思維與突破刻板印象,賦予傳統文化新的生命。青出於藍代表的便是新世代的能量源源不絕,為整個產業灌注向前的動力。

“Taiwan Design Expo’17” have curated the “Emerging Designers Exhibit” in the Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park, inviting 36 talented emerging designers/ brands to showcase their works. The curatorial theme of the “Emerging Designers Exhibit” is “Born Out of the Blue”, not only to reflect the Blueprint Cultural & Creative Park but also represents the blue that is extracted from indigo plants, symbolic of the emerging designers that are beginning to reveal their outstanding talents.

The exhibition emphasizes the presentation of thought process and design principles, not only on the aspect of form and utilities but also the development of many incredible materials during their material selection stages, or the research and heritance from traditional craftsmenship, breaking free from stereotypes with innovative methods of thinking, breathing a new life into the traditional culture. Born out of the Blue represent the endless energy coming from the new generation, becoming the driving force that propells the industry forward.

有用主張 | 想造工事 Imaginary Construction

「想造工事」簡而言之,就是將想像的事物創造出來的過程,在這過程之中,我們試圖讓想像力去掌權,去主張,去我們還想像不到的地方......。每每,總會發現,下一刻的想像,往往青出於藍。此次展覽,我們選擇一種材料,著手想像並展現這過程,沒有特定公式,秉持實驗精神與直覺轉化,向觀眾呈現我們以無限想像為基礎所發展出來作品。

The concept of the exhibition “Imaginary Construction” is to present inspirational works that show a divergent thinking process. These works portray a wide range of subjects that represent an unlimited imagination. However, these works all connect with the environment. We’d like to offer a new point of design beyond the rules by combining different elements, such as imagination, requirements, and environment.

 

曉房子創意 | 化物鍊石 Floating Stone

利用台灣傳統建築生活中常見之素材重新組合、分割等設計方式,勾勒出象徵現代之浮石形態,意在詮釋舊材料在新時代上的可塑性,並藉由反射環境與作品之變化拓印時間痕跡。

The design strategy is to represent the contemporary spirit by incorporating traditional materials in Taiwanese buildings. By dividing and reassembling the building materials, the designers expressed the concept of “Floating Stone” which means flexibility in a new era. Furthermore, the aging effect is achieved by reflecting the interaction between surrounding environment and design.

 

湯士賢 | 遊走 Tainan Tour

城市的游移是設計創作者提升靈感的一種方式,台南是自身成長的故鄉。
對於街上的樣貌,已成為熟悉的視覺印象,也是私藏的獨家記憶。
使用《台南生活自由式》,將台南繪製成插畫並以設計上的動線引導,將台南印象帶給參觀者,走入這座美好城市。

Moving within the city is a unique way for designers to find inspiration. Tainan is the hometown of the designer; the appearance of every single street is not only visible in the mind but also private and exclusive memories. This exhibition is based on the illustrations from the book, Southern Lifestyle, with a unique street view and circulation in Tainan, also lead visitors to appreciate the beauty of Tainan.

 

蛋造設計 | 直覺與選擇 Intuition & Options

從你口袋裡拿出來的蠟燭

引用並修改經典燭台的造型,Zippoholder將經典不熄滅的Zippo打火機堆向另一個奇妙的使用定位。利用其不熄滅的煤油式打火機特性,將Zippo穩固吸至於燭台淺槽上,使之成為一根蠟燭。一種高度跳躍性且極富趣味的扭轉。

Adapting the classic shape of the candle holder, Zippoholder is a clever twist that takes the iconic petrol lighters one step further. The quintessence of the design is to alter an ever burning Zippo from a lighter into a candle/torch in a clicking instant.

 

BXG株式會社 | NIBUNNO 設計台日交流 A Cultural bridge between Taiwan and Japan

近年台日交流日漸頻繁,但多僅限於日本的訊息進到台灣。希望藉由在東京的旅店設計計畫-NIBUNNO,將台灣的創意文化帶至國際。NIBUNNO是一個旅店、也是台日交流的基地,將設計過程以易懂的互動展示來傳達「設計做了什麼?」以及「設計的價值」。

In the past few years communication between Taiwan and Japan are more common than ever, but for most of the time, it is unilateral. By the accommodation project in Tokyo - NIBUNNO, we hope to bring more cultural creativity of Taiwan to the international level. NIBUNNO is not only an accommodation but also a “base” for communication between Taiwan and Japan, by holding user-friendly interactive exhibitions to demonstrate “What did design do?” and “The value of design.”

 

陳逸珊 | 藍色森林 Blue Forest

如同人的成長,從出生的新生兒(New Born)>嬰兒(Baby)>幼兒(Toddler)>孩童(Kid)分成好幾個系列,將成長過程作為主軸也呼應著青出於藍這個大主題,並運用平面的繪本插圖結合服飾的設計,讓創作本身不單一侷限於圖像,更能貼近生活。

The inspiration for this project is based on the process of child's growth. The designer draws a series of illustrations to tell the story and combine with fashion design to create a unique collection for children's life. The creation itself is not limited to the image, but more close to life.

 

陳思涵 | L-S 構成 Line-to-Space

在一些建物中,我們會看見管線沿著牆面、角落、邊界,以線條的形式延伸出空間,管線不僅是建築中的機能所需,現在也成為了成就風格的手段。此次展覽,設計師運用壓接管作為材料,製作出可以承重的家具類物件,以及嘗試發展結構,讓管線脫離牆面,繞出一個獨立的空間。

Nowadays, we can see some spaces are designed with the pipelines exposed on the wall. This time, the designer makes the pipes independent and uses it to create some new structures for making furniture which can bear loads. Furthermore, designer allows the pipeline to be detached from the walls, and revolve into a whole new independent space. In these works, people can see the structures clearly, and the structures will be the style of this project.

 

線加工 X 拍拍文創 | Line x Life

用有形的線轉化,探索著我們與寵物的生活牽絆。
「絆」的字義原是指著栓動物的繩子,但後來不論中文或日文,都從具體的事物衍伸成一種看不見的抽象概念。本次展覽透過線的不同造型、顏色與動物的表現,傳達生活中每個人有不同的個性與對生活的態度。並透過設計與民眾互動,找出代表專屬於每個人內心的羈絆~

Through the transformation of threads, the exhibition explores the connection between people and pet. “絆” (Ban) originally means the rope utilized to tie animals in Mandarin. Now, an intangible meaning and abstract concept have been inserted in this authentic object in both Mandarin and Japanese.

The concept of everybody possessing unique personalities and attitudes towards life has been shown in the exhibition, through the different shapes, colors of threads and animal forms. We are dedicated to finding out in-depth “絆” (Ban) of individuals via this interactive design.

 

123 Design Studio | 鹿月 The Moon of Lukang

全球暖化的問題越趨嚴重,人們一味追求科技文明、卻讓地球資源逐漸匱乏,或許是時候停下腳步,讓自然重返到我們的日常生活中。我們邀請了竹扇師傅做技術合作,以傳統的製扇技術結合新的設計美學,也希望藉此將職人們的人生智慧分享給大家。

Recently, as global warming becomes ever more serious. People keep pursuing the advancement of technology and civilization, however, the resources we can benefit from Earth gradually reduces. Maybe it is time for us to pause and let nature come back to our lives.
In this exhibition, we invite craftsmen skilled in circular fan art as our technical consultants and collaborator, but the unconventional design of circular fans combines ancient weaving technique with new design aesthetics. We also want to take this opportunity to share craftsmen’s wisdom of life with everyone.

 

米希 "的" 微縮世界 | 台南食記 Dining culture of Tainan

呈現傳統家庭中用餐的氛圍,以食器和用餐家具展示家裡吃飯的感覺,展覽作品擺設於圓桌及周邊,搭配說明、介紹,讓參觀者可近距離觀賞並感到熟悉親切,一探桌上的佳餚,藉以傳達台南的常民生活與家庭文化記憶。

By creating models of Chinese tableware and dining furniture to present the atmosphere of traditional family dining time at home. Exhibition works are put around the table and accessory, inviting the audiences to investigate delicious dishes and appreciate them in close distance, to convey the ordinary life of Tainan and family cultural memory.

 

層層生活 | 單椅自造家 Define Taste Create Life

層層生活把台灣懷舊元素重新帶入民眾的生活中,從教室裡的學生椅、月台上的火車等候椅、到外婆家的籐椅,將各個零件解構並將其模組化及標準化,讓每一個使用者能依自我風格創造出屬於自己的家具,日後還可依需求更換高度、零件,賦予家具新面貌。

From the school chairs, the rattan chairs, to the chairs at the train station, PileUp Life has brought the old-fashioned objects back to your life. We deconstruct a chair down into 9 parts, and we've designed various styles for each component of the chair. Because of standardizing all the components, it becomes easy and fun for the users to mix and match different components made of different materials, textures, or themes to create thousands of different styles of chairs. This process not only extends each chair's life but also adds value and fun into it.

 

東方包浩斯 | 聲歷其境 Soundtraveller

以聲音作為生活體驗的APP,在「地理圍欄」 (Geo-fencing )的範圍內橫跨「過去」、「現在」和「未來」三個時空,探索該場域的現場聲音與城市故事內涵,感受其人文精神意義,最終將穿梭不同時空體驗「聲音地景」的記憶。設計團隊擅長運用特殊畫風的視覺主題特色,搭配互動式擴增實境效果達到理念宣傳,透過AR技術整合策劃一系列互動展覽。

Soundtraveller is an APP that allows users to create a travel scrapbook of sounds. It ranges over three space-times, “Past”, “Present” and “Future”. The live sound exploring the location, and the city stories providing cultural and spiritual significances. Via its use of Geo-fencing technology, users are able to experience the sounds recorded in a certain place by previous visitors, enhancing their travel experience. The team hopes to adjust the way we present our ideas by using interactive Augmented Reality. 

 

入木三分 | 生活中的木質模式 Wood into Thirds

「木入三分」講求一個好的設計商品,實木元素只要占三分就足夠,搭配其它元素就能達到完美商品的呈現,故以「木入三分」為名。
「設計:簡單在簡單、商品:實用在實用」這兩大理念為『木入三分』的品牌宗旨。

The brand objective of “Wood into Thirds” is based on two simple design paradigms “Simplicity in design and practicality in products.” A great product containing a third of wood element would be sufficient. Combining that with other aspects is the key to the perfect final product. It's the reason we named our design label “Wood into Thirds.”

 

Kanari | 青.出.於.藍. Light Server / House / Skelock

青出於藍,青與藍皆是色系譜上同色相位置的顏色,擁有同樣本質的兩色,因接觸外在因素不同而成為不同顏色。此次新銳展以衍生、附加與變形,透過三項KANARI主要作品探討「青出於藍」的意義,藉由了解產品背後意涵,進而認識、發掘其代表真正本質。

A Chinese idiom said, “Green comes from blue, but excels it.” Located In the same position of the color spectrum, green and blue are two colors with the same nature but different due to contact with external influences. In this exhibition, KANARI uses 3 products to discuss the idea of “Green comes from blue, but excels it” by derivate, adhere, and deform the items; understanding the meaning behind products helps discover the essence of the items.   

 

李竺潔 | CreATE

設計師好比餐廳裡的主廚,在端上一盤好菜前總是經歷了一系列精采的煎煮炒炸過程,從了解客戶需求、構思備料、執行烹煮,修飾擺盤,一系列精采的步驟佐以設計師獨有的美學與個人特色,怎麼能不期待最後上桌的精采設計呢?

Designers just like chefs in the kitchen, before serving a good plate, it usually underwent a series of cooking process. During the process of knowing client's demands, preparing ingredients, cooking and dishing up, designers always try to serve the greatest dishes with their unique aesthetics and characteristics.

甲蟲仙生製革所 X ZAZA ZOO | 創意無界 Unbounded Creativity

夕陽產業的再生,傳統工藝的再造。兩種源自古老技藝的精神帶來嶄新創意。ZAZAZOO帶著中美牌制服轉型毛小孩的精緻服飾品牌;甲蟲仙生製革室延續傳統工藝的手作技藝,將皮革製作成一件件充滿設計感的皮件精品,同時也讓作品延伸至生活空間之中。

Regeneration of sunset industry and traditional crafts bring the old spirit to new creativity. The designers of ZAZA ZOO transform an old uniform brand into exquisite clothing for pets. Leather designers of Stagbeetle precede the spirit of handicrafts among traditional crafts, bringing the ordinary leather into various fashionable products and extending their design into daily life for people.

 

曾國展 | 字體實驗創作 Fonts Experiment

設計的根本是解決問題,溝通則是在解決問題前設計需要俱備的條件。 文字,自然是溝通上最直接的傳統工具, 此次的展覽方向以文字傳達為核心, 透過設計的介入,呈現字體在設計當中所能承載的視覺語彙與精神意涵。

The original purpose of design is to solve a problem. Communication is one of the requirements before solving the problem of design. Chinese characters are the most direct and traditional tools for communication in our culture. The exhibition shows the typeface design with Chinese characters as the core. Showing the typefaces which include the visual symbol and spiritual meaning by graphic design.

從前‧現再 Past and over again | 東部異材質設計聯展 Exhibition of composite materials design

台灣在天然資源薈萃薰陶下產出許多原料,而石材與木材(或漂流木)是東部藝術創作經常使用的材料,前者冷冽堅毅,後者溫潤手感,兩者的形成都見證了時間並象徵著歷久彌新的精神。我們廣邀設計、藝術工作團隊,透過設計將時間累積的產物作為原料,透過現代膠合技術與複合材質的詮釋,封存我們記憶中的時間,重新定義我們被侷限的既定秩序。

主題採用多元詮釋的時間觀,讓設計師們自由駕馭東部的天然材料;以多樣的表現形式,賦予傳統產業及文化創新向上的動力,讓青出於藍的可能與想像在東部發生。   

Taiwan is blessed with wealth of natural raw materials, and stone and wood (or driftwood) in particular are materials that are frequently used by eastern artists. The former is cold and resolute, while the latter gives a warm feeling, but both of these materials provide a testimony for the passage of time, and are symbols of timelessness. We invite teams of designers and artists to archive the passage of time in our memories and redefine the rules that have previously restricted us, through designs using raw materials produced by the accumulation of time, and interpretations of modern gluing techniques and composite materials.

Time perspectives with multiple interpretations are used in this topic to allow designers to freely manipulate the natural materials of the east; through a variety of expressions, we provide traditional industries and cultures with the impetus to innovate and elevate themselves, so that possibilities and ideas eclipsing those of the past may emerge in the east.

"台灣山川之美在花蓮花蓮風景之最在立霧溪用花蓮在地所能取得的邊材料以石材及漂流木留住這屬於立霧溪最美的風景置身於這靜謐、風景優美的環境彷彿使人忘卻了塵俗中的煩惱忘卻了那追趕著我們的時間。

Hualian has some of the most beautiful mountains of Taiwan and the most scenic landscapes can be found by the Liwu River. The materials of the local site, stones, and the floating woods have been preserved intact to maintian the original scenery of the Liwu River.

Immerse yourself in this quiet enviornment, remove yourself from the stress of everyday life, and enjoy the sense of being frozen in time. "

Fusion of visual delight and sensuous touch!

The marble pattern and hand soaps are different to touch. Marbles are steady and hard, while the hand soaps are gentle and soft to touch.

The stone scrap as the base and the pattern of hand soaps on top makes the whole dish look like a marble ball. But on touching it, you realize that it is a really a gentle hand soap!

 

美立仁生工作室 Beautiful Life Studio | 北極熊的地盤 The site of Polar bear

"利用雕刻創作過程中產生的下腳石材,針對不同的石種與特徵,創作當代所重視的環保議題。本次「北極熊的地盤」,以花蓮白大理石創作大白熊找到可以維生的棲息大陸,象徵地球的復甦。

This concept is based on a polar bear in its living habitat. Using Hualian white marble to create this work symbolizes the resurgence of the earth."

 

林冠宇 Chris Lin | 酒醄 Jiu-Tao

使用花蓮特有石種加工時產生的餘料與金屬結合來推廣石材。利用石材特性結合紅酒保存所需要的條件來製成這套酒器。 藉由石頭與金屬的配重來讓酒器達到平衡,隨著酒瓶拿起,重量改變產生晃動讓使用者感受到微醺的意象。

The surplus of Hulien's unique marble obtained after processing is combined with metal to create a new kind of stone material.Utilizing the stone's characteristics and understanding the requirements for wine storage, this is used to manufacture wine ware.Adjusting the balance weight portion between the stone and metal allows for the bottle weight to shift while lifting it producing a swaying effect as if the user is feeling slightly drunk."

 

凌晨工作室 A.M IDEAS | 什石皿峕 Crescendo marble dining ware

"剛剛好的奢華組合”器皿的造型運用基本的幾何圖形做變化,是為了更襯托法式點心的風采。搭配上金色立體弧線造型,不僅讓使用時容易拿取、收納堆疊時不佔空間,在品嚐精緻的手工點心時,更能享受一場味覺、嗅覺和視覺的生活體驗。

Designed to capture the lavish experience of dining on artisanal French pastry, the Crescendo dining ware uses a luxurious blend of marble and gold. Its stylish, clean and modern profile makes it the perfect backdrop to French pastry, appetizers and cheeses.

 

高鄧麗娟 Lesia Kao Deng | 享念 Sharing

使用石材剩材為主要材料,配合花蓮二次加工切割技術與純熟的手工技法,保留剩材天然的紋路,經由設計後,再一次的切割及加工,在加工上提倡使用不過多的工序,以基本的加工(水磨、定厚、細修)為主要流程。進而搭配木材及其他材質,讓商品更豐富也擁有新的價值。

Techniques are used on the stone remaining as the main material after Hualien secondary processing and cutting technology to retain the natural grain and design. Without further processing, it is used along with wood and other materials to make an abundant number of new products of value.

 

黑生起司 ViiCHENDESIGN | AURA

「AURA」將大理石圓管表面紋理特色,以霓虹燈光照射出光澤反射,整體以霓虹燈管結合大理石圓管方式,透過不同角度及擺放方向可營造出不同的光線型態,擴散光感視覺,氛圍渲染空間,功能部分可作為邊桌使用,搭配原有傢俱亦可作為情境擺飾品運用,改變居家視覺效果,將花蓮石材之美以藝術高價值層次進入現代生活當中。

Neon light tubes combined with white Mist Marble create the multi-angle reflexive lighting pattern through different angles to diffuse the lighting visual effect and bathe the space in the atmosphere. Whether used solely or overlapped, Aura presents various and unique life style. It is not only a decorative piece of furniture but also an atmosphere light."

 

葉銘杰 YEH MING CHIEH | 島嶼系列 The Islands

"島嶼系列是由大理石製成的桌上文具,概念源自於台灣的自然山河與人力拓墾的通衢交織而出的美麗地貌,將其收斂、重現成為辦公桌上的美景。

岩石自然的斷裂面與洗鍊的切割面兼容於一體,並且每個裂面都是獨一無二的。

“The Islands” is a series of stationery made of marble. It represents the gorgeous landscape of Taiwan, composed of mountains, rivers and artificial constructions, as a tiny view on our tables. The natural-cracked surfaces and clear-cut surfaces form an interesting conflict. Moreover, every cracked surface following the texture of marble and becoming unique makes "The Islands" more attractive."

 

謝志偉 Hsieh Chih-Wei | 流 Streaming

“流”利用石材的顏色及透光性以及自然的邊緣構成一條裂縫猶如時間的河流。再以木框包裹並安裝LED燈條(黃光)作成可掛可立可平放(長短邊)的燈具。

“Streaming” by utilizing the colors and transparency of rock flakes, and the natural edges to form a crack, as if the stream of time. The lightfixture is framed by wood as well. It can be hanged on the wall, lean on a wall(long or short edge of lightfixture), or lay on a table."

 

爵形設計 Just Sincere Design | 永恆.結 / Eternity.Knot

"繩結技法是古代傳統著名的技藝,結合歷史文化背景與手工技法,為一種古今文化傳承的概念,再加上現代金屬3D列印並添加其他複合材質,如石材與漂流木的妝點,讓作品更有精湛巧思的呈現,勾勒出歷史的推移,將古代技藝與現代3D列印科技都詮釋得淋漓盡致。

Knotted knot technique is the ancient tradition of famous art, combined with historical and cultural background and handmade techniques as a concept of ancient and modern cultural heritage,combined with modern metal 3D printing, and add other composite materials, such as stone and drift wood makeup, More superb ingenuity of the show, outline the history of the passage of time, the ancient skills and modern 3D printing technology are interpreted most vividly."

 

邱郁翔 Chiu Yu-Hsiang | 經緯 Sundial

"日昇東方,太平洋海面升起的曙光、夏日高照的艷陽,後山日先照向來是東部予人的第一印象。”經緯”-嘗試以天然石材結合互動裝置設計,計算經緯度、投影角度與晷面傾角,創造一縮現光影運行奧秘的氣氛燈飾。

Several first image of the East Taiwan are the very sunny day, or the place of sun rises, otherwise sun rises from the sea level of Pacific Ocean. That are what most people would think of when talking about the east. The "Sundial”was Integrated by nature stone & Arduino development ,with latitude and longitude、projection and Inclined plane’s angle calculation,it is a light decoration which presents sun revolves mystery."
